Solubility of acetylene in vinyl acetate and in a mixture of vinyl acetate and acetic acid

Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data, 1992
Solubilities of acetylene in vinyl acetate and its mixture with acetic acid (1:1 molar ratio) were measured at temperatures from -15 to 0 o C and at pressures from 20 to 100 kPa. Solubilities are characterized by mole fractions of acetylene and by Henry's constants.

Metabolism and pharmacokinetics of vinyl acetate

Archives of Toxicology, 1985
The hydrolysis of vinyl acetate (formation of acetic acid) has been studied in vitro with rat liver and lung microsomes, rat and human plasma and purified esterases (such as acetylcholine esterase, butyrylcholine esterase, carboxyl esterase). Characterization of the kinetic parameters revealed that rat liver microsomes and purified carboxyl esterase ...

Conformations of vinyl formate and vinyl acetate

Australian Journal of Chemistry, 1976
Ab initio molecular orbital theory has been used to deduce the preferred gas-phase conformations of vinyl formate and vinyl acetate. In addition, experimental dipole moments (1030µ/Cm) and molar Kerr constants (1027mK/m5 V-2 mol-1) at 25ºC are reported for both molecules as solutes in carbon tetrachloride: vinyl formate (5.07, + 48.1) and vinyl acetate

Grafting reactions of vinyl acetate onto poly[(vinyl alcohol)-co-(vinyl acetate)]

Journal of Polymer Science Part A: Polymer Chemistry, 1996
The grafting preference of vinyl acetate onto the methine carbon of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVOH) versus the acetate group of poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc) was determined as part of an attempt to prepare novel branched PVOH from partially hydrolyzed PVAc. The results showed long chain grafting on the acetate groups of the PVAc units rather than the methine ...

Iodine reaction of vinyl acetate‐vinyl propionate copolymers, VI, thermochromism of the iodine complex membranes of poly(vinyl acetate) and vinyl acetate‐vinyl propionate copolymers

Die Angewandte Makromolekulare Chemie, 1979
AbstractThe thermochromism of the iodine complex membranes of poly(vinyl acetate) and vinyl acetate‐vinyl propionate copolymers was investigated at the states of different humidity. The complex membranes which were maintained in water and in wet air showed a reversible colour change by a heating‐cooling cycle, while the complex membrane in dry air was ...

Synthesis of vinyl phenyl acetate and an evaluation of vinyl chloride/vinyl phenyl acetate copolymers

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1991
AbstractThe synthesis of vinyl phenyl acetate, by an ester interchange reaction between phenyl acetic acid and vinyl acetate and utilizing a catalyst, is described. Copolymerization with vinyl chloride, in a suspension system and using a peroxide catalyst, is described on a laboratory and pilot plant scale.
