Deciphering a New Electrolyte Formulation for Intelligent Modulation of Thermal Runaway to Improve the Safety of Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Diels‐Alder clicks chemistry addresses thermal runaway in lithium‐ion batteries. A thermoresponsive electrolyte with lithium salt in vinylene carbonate (VC) and 2,5‐dimethylfuran (DMFu) operates at room temperature but undergoes Diels‐Alder reactions at high temperatures, enabling a two‐step safety mechanism: a warning phase at ≈100 °C and complete ...

Influence of seasonality on the comfort supplied by different materials used as cubicle flooring for dairy cows

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2010
The comfort provided by four different cubicle floorings was evaluated with a preference test in relation to winter and summer seasons. The test showed that polyethylene vinyl acetate and polypropylene vinyl acetate mats were preferred during winter ...

Nanofillers Reinforcing Biopolymer Composites for Sustainable Food Packaging Applications: A State‐of‐the‐Art Review

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biopolymers are sustainable, biodegradable alternatives to petroleum‐based plastics for food packaging. Its adoption is often limited by poor mechanical strength, barrier properties, and improved thermal stability through the incorporation of nanofillers.

Zinc Acetate Immobilized on Mesoporous Materials by Acetate Ionic Liquids as Catalysts for Vinyl Acetate Synthesis

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2015
Ionic liquid containing active ingredient Zn(CH3COO)2 was loaded in mesoporous silica gel to form supported ionic liquids catalyst (SILC) which was used to synthesize vinyl acetate monomer (VAM).

Embedded 3D‐Coaxial Bioprinting of Stenotic Brain Vessels with a Mechanically Enhanced Extracellular Matrix Bioink for Investigating Hemodynamic Force‐Induced Endothelial Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, a physically enhanced vascular dECM bioink and used 3D‐coaxial bioprinting are developed to fabricate mature brain blood vessels for cerebral atherosclerosis research. This model demonstrates that vascular geometry‐induced hemodynamic changes trigger vascular inflammation, ensuring its potential for cerebrovascular research.
