Polarographic Determination of Vinyl Compounds

open access: yesBUNSEKI KAGAKU, 1955
Polarographic determination of several vinyl compounds have been investigated with the use of tetramethylammonium ion, (CH3)4N+, and tetrabutylammonium ion, (C4H9)4N+, as the supporting electrolytes. The vinyl esters, such as vinyl acetate, vinyl butylate, and vinyl benzoate, can be determined from the wave of acetaldehyde which is produced by the ...

Sensitive and Spatially‐Resolved Electrochemiluminescence via Micropatterning

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The use of a simple silica nanoparticle surface coating and patterning process can transform ordinary gold electrodes into multiplexed ECL sensing electrodes. Through spatially confined droplet formation and local ECL emission, it is possible to perform multiple analyses simultaneously from individual locations as well as intensify the ECL signal by as

Ti3C2Tx MXene/Silver Composite Foams For Lightweight, High‐Performance Electromagnetic Interference Shielding and Joule Heating

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Ultrathin MXene/EMF composite foams achieve a specific shielding efficiency of 749.6 dB.dB·cm3$\mathrm{dB}\cdot {\mathrm{cm}}^{3}$/g, while the silver‐enhanced MXene/Ag/EMF reaches 81.4 dB shielding effectiveness at just 1.0 mm thickness. Both composites exhibit rapid Joule heating, retain stability up to 250∘C$^\circ{\rm C}$, and withstand 1000 ...

Operando X‐Ray Absorption Spectroscopy Reveals Dynamic Interfacial Metal–Metal Coordination Governing CO2 Reduction Selectivity in PdAg Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Operando X‐ray absorption spectroscopy uncovers dynamic Ag–Pd coordination in PdxAg1−x electrocatalysts during CO2 reduction. Partial oxidation of Ag and composition‐dependent metal–metal bonding synergistically regulate intermediate binding, enabling ∼91% CO selectivity.

Photopolymerization of vinyl monomers in the presence of chlorosilane compounds

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science Part A-1: Polymer Chemistry, 1968
AbstractThe photopolymerization of vinyl monomers (methyl methacrylate and styrene) was investigated in the presence of chlorosilane compounds. It was found that these additives acted as photosensitizers. In the case of the photopolymerization of methyl methacrylate, the rate of polymerization was found to be proportional to the concentration of methyl

Two‐Way Shape Memory Polymer Composite Gripper for Adaptive Robotic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A two‐way shape memory polymer (SMP) composite is developed with intrinsic shape‐changing capability driven solely by temperature, eliminating external actuation loads. Embedding the SMP in a low‐stiffness elastomeric matrix enabled reversible transformations during heating and cooling cycles.
