THE NEXT GENERATION VIRGO CLUSTER SURVEY (NGVS). XXV. FIDUCIAL PANCHROMATIC COLORS OF VIRGO CORE GLOBULAR CLUSTERS AND THEIR COMPARISON TO MODEL PREDICTIONS [PDF]
The central region of the Virgo Cluster of galaxies contains thousands of globular clusters (GCs), an order of magnitude more than the number of clusters found in the Local Group.

Cold Dust in Late‐Type Virgo Cluster Galaxies [PDF]
We have statistically analyzed the spatially integrated far-infrared (FIR) emissions of the complete volume- and luminosity-limited sample of late-type (later than S0) Virgo cluster galaxies measured using the Infrared Space Observatory (ISO) by Tuffs et al. (2002) in bands centered on 60, 100 and 170 microns.

ABSTRACT The transition to a circular economy (CE) in the textile and clothing (TC) industry is frequently attributed to sustainability‐oriented innovation (SOI), yet empirical understanding of the systemic conditions under which SOI enables CE remains underdeveloped.

The “Double Bind” of Gender‐Based Violence: Secondary Victimization in Courtroom Cross‐Examinations
ABSTRACT This paper examines how secondary victimization is interactionally produced during courtroom cross‐examinations of women who have experienced sexual violence. Drawing on Ethnomethodology, Conversation Analysis and Membership Categorization Analysis, the study investigates how defense attorneys invoke rape myths and gendered stereotypes to ...

The surface brightness fluctuation (SBF) method is a robust and efficient way of measuring distances to galaxies containing evolved stellar populations. Although many recent applications of the method have used space-based imaging, SBF remains a powerful

An extragalactic HII region in the Virgo cluster
We present spectroscopic observations for six emission-line objects projected onto the Virgo cluster. These sources have been selected from narrow band (H\alpha+[NII]) images showing faint detectable continuum emission and EW>100 Angstrom.

GALAXIES AT THE EXTREMES: ULTRA-DIFFUSE GALAXIES IN THE VIRGO CLUSTER [PDF]
We report the discovery of three large ( R 29 ≳ ?> 1′) extremely low surface brightness (LSB; &mgr; V , 0 ≈ 27.0 ?> ) galaxies identified using our deep, wide-field imaging of the Virgo Cluster from the Burrell Schmidt telescope.

TheHerschelVirgo Cluster Survey [PDF]
We use the Science Demonstration Phase data of the Herschel Virgo Cluster Survey to search for dust emission of early-type dwarf galaxies in the central regions of the Virgo Cluster as an alternative way of identifying the interstellar medium. We present the first possible far-infrared detection of cluster early-type dwarf galaxies: VCC781 and VCC951 ...

Charting Resource Efficiency Practices Across European Firms: A Multilevel Analysis
ABSTRACT The circular economy (CE) is a key sustainability paradigm, prompting European Union (EU) organizations and policymakers to move beyond linear production and consumption models. The study aimed to assess the implementation patterns of nine CE activities among EU companies and to explore how the implementation of these CE activities relates to ...
