A UNIFORM CONTRIBUTION OF CORE-COLLAPSE AND TYPE Ia SUPERNOVAE TO THE CHEMICAL ENRICHMENT PATTERN IN THE OUTSKIRTS OF THE VIRGO CLUSTER [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We present the first measurements of the abundances of α-elements (Mg, Si, and S) extending out beyond the virial radius of a cluster of galaxies.

A Strategic Action Plan to Advance Circular Economy Practices in the Automotive Industry Based on Sector Insights to Support Sustainable Development

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The circular economy is gaining traction as a transformative approach to address climate change and the shortcomings of the linear economic model, which is defined by unsustainable production and consumption patterns. This study explores the implementation of circularity principles in the Spanish automotive industry, with particular attention ...

THE NEXT GENERATION VIRGO CLUSTER SURVEY. X. PROPERTIES OF ULTRA-COMPACT DWARFS IN THE M87, M49, AND M60 REGIONS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We use imaging from the Next Generation Virgo cluster Survey (NGVS) to present a comparative study of ultra-compact dwarf (UCD) galaxies associated with three prominent Virgo sub-clusters: those centered on the massive red-sequence galaxies M87, M49, and

Product‐Related CSR in the Digital Era: Communication Patterns That Drive Consumer Interactions on Social Media

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT To meet rising sustainability demands, companies increasingly use social media to communicate product‐related CSR initiatives. Consumers' interactions with these messages largely depend on the messages' perceived credibility. However, there remains limited understanding of how firms combine communication characteristics into distinct patterns ...

The Next Generation Virgo Cluster Survey - Infrared (NGVS-IR): I. A new Near-UV/Optical/Near-IR Globular Cluster selection tool

open access: yes, 2013
The NGVS-IR project (Next Generation Virgo Survey - Infrared) is a contiguous near-infrared imaging survey of the Virgo cluster of galaxies. It complements the optical wide-field survey of Virgo (NGVS).

Carbon‐based materials from renewable sources: Challenges and perspectives with a focus on green coconut

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Technology &Biotechnology, EarlyView.
Abstract This article presents a comprehensive examination of agricultural production, biomass generation, and its transformation into biochar, with a particular emphasis on green coconut waste as a primary resource. It underscores the link between agriculture and substantial biomass output, shedding light on the ecological issues associated with solid

Mapping the Nearest Ancient Sloshing Cold Front in the Sky with XMM-_Newton_

open access: yesThe Open Journal of Astrophysics
The Virgo Cluster is the nearest cool core cluster that features two well-studied sloshing cold fronts at radii of r ≈ 30 kpc and r ≈ 90 kpc, respectively.

Wandering globular clusters: the first dwarf galaxies in the universe?

open access: yes, 2010
In the last decade we witness an advent of new types of dwarf stellar systems in cluding ultra-compact dwarfs, ultra-faint dwarf spheroidals, and exotic globular clusters, breaking the old simple paradigm for dwarf galaxies and globular clusters.

THE NEXT GENERATION VIRGO CLUSTER SURVEY. XII. STELLAR POPULATIONS AND KINEMATICS OF COMPACT, LOW-MASS EARLY-TYPE GALAXIES FROM GEMINI GMOS-IFU SPECTROSCOPY [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We present Gemini Multi Object Spectrograph integral-field unit (GMOS-IFU) data of eight compact, low-mass early-type galaxies (ETGs) in the Virgo cluster.

Studies of the Virgo cluster. VI - Morphological and kinematical structure of the Virgo cluster

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 1987
The structure of the Virgo cluster is analyzed on the basis of the positions, Hubble types, and radial velocities of 1277 Virgo cluster galaxies. The surface distribution of galaxies is considered according to type, and is discussed using maps, isopleths, strip counts, and radial-density distributions.
