Cluster-Group Interaction in the Virgo Cluster

open access: yes, 2002
We present two projects related to interaction in the Virgo cluster. In the first section we draw a quantitative comparison of the distribution of the galaxies and the intra-cluster gas taking into account that the Virgo cluster has an irregular structure consisting of several subclusters.

Fused Filament Fabrication and Recycling of Bio‐Based Polyamide 11 Reinforced With Recycled Short Carbon Fibers

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Fused Filament Fabrication and Recycling of Bio‐Based Polyamide 11 Reinforced With Recycled Short Carbon Fibers. Sample preparation, mechanical properties improvement after rCF addition and properties retainment after recycling. ABSTRACT This research investigates the fused filament fabrication (FFF) and recycling of bio‐based polyamide 11 (PA11 ...

The Lower Limit of Dynamical Black Hole Masses Detectable in Virgo Compact Stellar Systems Using the JWST/NIRSpec IFU

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Due to observational challenges, the mass function of black holes (BH) at lower masses is poorly constrained in the local universe. Understanding the occupation fraction of BHs in low-mass galaxies is crucial for constraining the origins of supermassive ...

Using Lignin and Spent Coffee Grounds as Bio‐Additives in 3D‐Printable Poly Lactic Acid/Multi‐Walled Carbon Nanotube Composites for Advanced Electronic Applications

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Bio‐based additives derived from lignin and spent coffee grounds (SCG) are used to enhance MWCNT dispersion in PLA composites, enabling improved electrical conductivity and reliable in material extruded strain‐gauge sensors. ABSTRACT In this work, three bio‐based additives, lignin, spent coffee grounds (SCG), and oil extracted from SCG (Ox‐SCG) were ...

An X-Ray Census of Active Galactic Nuclei in the Virgo and Fornax Clusters of Galaxies with SRG/eROSITA

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
We present a uniform and sensitive X-ray census of active galactic nuclei (AGNs) in the two nearest galaxy clusters, Virgo and Fornax, utilizing the newly released X-ray source catalogs from the first all-sky scan of Spectrum-Roentgen-Gamma/eROSITA.

Agroforestry and enhanced rock weathering: A dual strategy for sustainable cacao

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Cacao production is both economically vital and environmentally intensive, presenting a major sustainability challenge as a crop largely cultivated by smallholder farmers in climate‐vulnerable regions. This review synthesises evidence that integrating agroforestry with enhanced rock weathering (EW) may significantly reduce emissions from cacao ...

Optimization of Microfibrillated and Nanofibrillated Cellulose Coating to Improve Performance of Paperboard Intended for Food Packaging Applications

open access: yesPackaging Technology and Science, EarlyView.
This study aims to optimise the application methods of a biobased suspension of micro/nano cellulose fibrils from agro‐biomass subjected to high‐pressure homogenisation. Two methods were selected, bar coating (BC) and spray coating (SC), and were tested using an LF factorial design with 3 levels and 2 factors.
