In situ temperature determination using magnetic resonance spectroscopy thermometry for noninvasive postmortem examinations

We investigated the feasibility of using MRS thermometry for postmortem examinations in forensics. There was no clear influence of postmortem changes on the MRS temperature measurement in brain tissue, both in severed sheep heads and in 84 deceased. The study thus demonstrates the potential of MRS thermometry for postmortem investigations.
