Field Report from Collaborative Research Center 1625: Heterogeneous Research Data Management Using Ontology Representations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A unified research data management framework for heterogeneous materials data is presented. The system integrates multimodal datasets using ontologies and knowledge graphs, enabling interoperability and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data principles. By linking data across scales and workflows, it supports reproducible, Artifitial

Impact of virtual bridging on virtual machine placement in data center networking [PDF]

open access: yes2014 26th International Teletraffic Congress (ITC), 2014
The increasing adoption of virtualization techniques has recently favored the emergence of useful switching functions at the hypervisor level, commonly referred to as virtual bridging. In the context of data center network (DCN) consolidations, for VMs colocated in the same virtualization server, virtual bridging becomes very useful to offload inter-VM

Location-Constrained Virtual Machine Placement (LCVP) Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Programming, 2020
Virtual machine (VM) placement is the current day research topic in cloud computing area. In order to solve the problem of imposing location constraints on VMs to meet their requirements in the process of VM placement, the location-constrained VM placement (LCVP) algorithm is proposed in this paper.

VMP-ER: An Efficient Virtual Machine Placement Algorithm for Energy and Resources Optimization in Cloud Data Center

open access: yesAlgorithms
Cloud service providers deliver computing services on demand using the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) model. In a cloud data center, several virtual machines (VMs) can be hosted on a single physical machine (PM) with the help of virtualization.

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.
