SensIaas: A Sensor-Cloud Infrastructure with Sensor Virtualization
2016 IEEE 3rd International Conference on Cyber Security and Cloud Computing (CSCloud), 2016In this paper, we propose a sensor-cloud environmentwhich incorporates remotely located physical sensor devicesin the generic resource family along with other resources likeCPU, memory etc. The environment enables ubiquitous andon-demand access to virtual sensors which are abstractions ofphysical devices with enhanced capabilities.

An approach for provisioning virtual sensors in sensor clouds
International Journal of Network Management, 2019SummaryIn sensor clouds environments, the provisioning process is a crucial task since it is responsible for selecting physical sensors that will be used to create virtual sensors. However, most works consider the allocation of all sensors within the region of interest, causing serious problems such as the wasting of energy consumption.

Generator for modular virtual sensors
2016 IEEE 21st International Conference on Emerging Technologies and Factory Automation (ETFA), 2016Virtual sensors are “software simulations” of real sensors based on measurements of other sensors and a model. This paper presents a new design software which supports the creation and parametrization of modular virtual sensors, i.e. virtual sensors consisting of several “subsystems”.

Assessment of Virtualization as a Sensor Technique
2010 Fifth IEEE International Workshop on Systematic Approaches to Digital Forensic Engineering, 2010The explosive growth of malware development and the increasing sophistication of malware behavior require thatsecurity researchers be on the lookout for new vectors of attacks. Drive-by-downloads are among the types of attacks that are onthe rise.

Sensor Virtualization for Efficient Sharing of Mobile and Wearable Sensors
Proceedings of the 19th ACM Conference on Embedded Networked Sensor Systems, 2021Users are surrounded by sensors that are available through various devices beyond their smartphones. However, these sensors are not fully utilized by current end-user applications. A key reason sensor use is so limited is that application developers must exactly identify how the sensor data can be used by smartphone apps.

Remote experiment and virtual sensors
2016 IEEE Global Engineering Education Conference (EDUCON), 2016The necessity to create virtual sensors derived from the fact that in the condition of the existence of millions of sensors, cloud computing becomes the compulsory layer between physical sensors which capture aspects of the external environment and the application interface.

VSS: The Virtual Sensor System
2013 22nd International Conference on Computer Communication and Networks (ICCCN), 2013Human Computer Interface still remains a main challenge for successful communication. In the ever changing world of technology, where touch screen devices, tablets, smartphones have been rapidly evolving with the aim to make interaction between man and the machine simple and robust.

A virtual machine for sensor networks
Proceedings of the 2nd ACM SIGOPS/EuroSys European Conference on Computer Systems 2007, 2007Sensor networks are increasingly being deployed for a wide variety of tasks. Today, in these networks, the development, deployment, and maintenance of applications are performed largely ad-hoc. Existing platforms help somewhat but also introduce implicit trade-offs.

Virtual sensors for control applications
Annual Reviews in Control, 2002Abstract The main goal of a sensing device is to provide reliable, precise, up-to-date and concise information about a process variable, parameter or index, to be used for different monitoring or control purposes. Other than using the basic transducer device, it is also possible to convert a variable into another one which is easier to handle. Modern
