Structured modeling for VHDL synthesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
This report will describe a proposed modeling style for the use of the VHSIC Hardware Description Language (VHDL) in design synthesis. We will describe the operations and underlying assumptions of four design models currently understood and used in ...

Real‐Time, Label‐Free Classification of Cell Death Pathways via Holotomography‐Based Deep Learning Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A 3D holotomography system coupled with a deep learning model distinguishes how cells die—apoptosis, necroptosis or necrosis—without any fluorescent labels. Training on refractive index maps of HeLa cells yields 97% accuracy and flags necroptosis hours before chemical dyes.

Commissioning strategies and methods

open access: yes, 2013
Accelerator beam commissioning is a challenging and exciting period. It is generally the first integrated operation of the many systems in an accelerator and, most importantly, of the beam. First, general preparation is discussed.

Optisense: Computational Optimization for Strain Sensor Placement in Wearable Motion Tracking Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A computational framework for optimizing strain sensor placement in wearable motion tracking systems is presented. By combining dense strain mapping with a genetic algorithm, the method discovers counterintuitive yet highly effective configurations that reduce joint angle error by 32%.

Using teleporting, awareness and multiple views to improve teamwork in collaborative virtual environments [PDF]

open access: yes
Mobile Group Dynamics (MGDs) are a suite of techniques that help people work together in large-scale collaborative virtual environments (CVEs). The present paper describes the implementation and evaluation of three additional MGDs techniques (teleporting,

Small‐signal rotor angle stability of multi‐virtual synchronous machine (n‐VISMA) microgrid

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution
Autonomous microgrid is known to lack appropriate inertia and damping for grid stabilization. Due to this, virtual synchronous machine (VISMA) has been introduced to provide necessary ancillary services through control of power converters.

A Multi‐instrument Recognition and Autonomous Tracking Control Method for Robot‐Assisted Endoscopic Adjustment

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
During lengthy minimally invasive surgeries, fatigue can cause surgeon tremor and poor endoscopic coordination. This study proposes a robot‐assisted endoscopic adjustment system. It employs a lightweight instrument detection model and a hierarchical multiconstraint controller for visual servoing.
