Modeling and Power Regulation Strategy of Variable‐Speed Pumped Storage Unit With Full‐Size Converter in Pump Mode

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
A numerical model of variable‐speed pumped storage unit (VSPSU) with full‐size converter (FSC) under fast speed control strategy is established. Additionally, the correctness of the model was validated by comparing with SIMSEN simulation results and text prototype data from NARI.

Gossip Dual Averaging for Decentralized Optimization of Pairwise Functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In decentralized networks (of sensors, connected objects, etc.), there is an important need for efficient algorithms to optimize a global cost function, for instance to learn a global model from the local data collected by each computing unit.

Impedance Estimation for Transient Stability Enhancement of Virtual Synchronous Machines

open access: yes2024 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Power Electronics for Distributed Generation Systems (PEDG)
In this paper, a passive technique for estimating the impedance and voltage of a Thévenin grid is presented. The method can be applied when either the maximum active power or minimum reactive power operating point, with respect to the power angle, is crossed. This work addresses transient events, for which the former occurs.

Small‐signal rotor angle stability of multi‐virtual synchronous machine (n‐VISMA) microgrid

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution
Autonomous microgrid is known to lack appropriate inertia and damping for grid stabilization. Due to this, virtual synchronous machine (VISMA) has been introduced to provide necessary ancillary services through control of power converters.
