Business Benefits from the Virtualization of an ICT Infrastructure

open access: yesInternational Journal of Engineering Business Management, 2012
Virtualization is a technique that may be encountered in all parts of an ICT infrastructure. The benefits of virtualization for an infrastructure are recognized by a growing number of companies.

Near‐Infrared Circularly Polarized Electroluminescence with Switchable Handedness in Organic LEDs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The first fully‐organic circularly polarized near‐infrared OLED, using a co‐assembled active layer of ITIC and a chiral inducer, exhibits dissymmetry values up to 0.074 and 1.65 Wsr−1m−2 radiance. The circular polarization sign can be switched by manipulating the position of the recombination zone, resulting in enhanced device performance and stability.

Filamentations for Virtual Links [PDF]

open access: yesSchellhorn, William J., "Filamentations for Virtual Links", Journal of Knot Theory and Its Ramifications, Vol. 15, No. 3 (March 2006), pp. 327-338, 2004
In 2002, D. Hrencecin and L.H. Kauffman defined a filamentation invariant on oriented chord diagrams that may determine whether the corresponding flat virtual knot diagrams are non-trivial. A virtual knot diagram is non-classical if its related flat virtual knot diagram is non-trivial.

Rethinking the Virtual

open access: yesE-Learning and Digital Media, 2004
The author builds theoretically off an alternative conception of the virtual, through a series of steps. First, he explores four processes of engagement through which immersion happens (interest, involvement, imagination and interaction); these will prove especially important for understanding the educational potential of virtuality.

Exploring Electronic States and Ultrafast Electron Dynamics in AlInP Window Layers: The Role of Surface Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines the surface characteristics of AlInP (001), crucial for advanced solar cells and photoelectrochemical devices. Using theoretical modeling and experiments, it identifies how phosphorus‐rich and indium‐rich surfaces create mid‐gap states that pin the Fermi level and influence ultrafast electron dynamics.

On Virtual Crossing Numbers for Virtual Knots [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
The aim of the present paper is to prove that the minimal number of virtual crossings for some families of virtual knots grows quadratically with respect to the minimal number of classical crossings. All previously known estimates for virtual crossing number were principally no more than linear in the number of classical crossings (or, what is the same,

VIRTUALIZARE ȘI FIINȚARE ÎN „SFERELE VIRTUALE ALE ÎMBRĂȚIȘĂRII”. LUMEA AFIRMĂRII VS. LUMEA DEVENIRII [PDF]

open access: yesRevista de Știinţe Politice şi Relaţii Internaţionale
How should we understand virtualization? Why should we think virtualization? Indeed, man is homo faber and in this respect the human being is the creator of instruments par excellence.

Multi‐Pathway Upconversion Emission in Symmetry‐Broken Nanocavities: Broadband Multiresonant Enhancement and Anti‐Correlated Interfacial Sensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Symmetry‐broken plasmonic nanoantenna arrays achieve broadband multiresonant enhancement of second harmonic generation (SHG), third harmonic generation (THG), and upconversion photoluminescence (UCPL), under femtosecond laser excitation across the near‐infrared range (1000–1600 nm).
