Bemnifosbuvir: An HCV NS5B Inhibitor With Multiple Modes of Action

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Bemnifosbuvir (BEM) is a potent, pan‐genotypic inhibitor targeting the hepatitis C virus (HCV) NS5B polymerase. Its antiviral activity was evaluated in an ascending dose phase I clinical trial involving 30 patients treated once a day for 7 days. After treatment initiation, plasma HCV RNA declined in a biphasic manner with a mean reduction of 2.3 log10 ...

Immune-mediated liver dysfunction after antiviral treatment in liver transplanted patients with hepatitis c: Allo or autoimmune de novo hepatitis?

open access: yes, 2009
BACKGROUND: The recurrence of hepatitis C after liver transplantation is extremely frequent. Antiviral therapy combining pegylated-interferon with ribavirin is therefore increasingly used in these patients.

Expression of mutant TIE2 p.L914F during mouse development causes embryonic lethality and defects in vascular remodeling

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Sporadic venous malformation (VM) is associated with the hyperactivating p.L914F mutation in TIE2, a receptor tyrosine kinase essential for vascular development. This mutation is not found in hereditary VM, suggesting incompatibility with life when expressed during early vascular development.

Transendocardial injection of expanded autologous CD34+ cells after myocardial infarction: Design of the EXCELLENT trial

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1455-1463, April 2025.
Abstract Aims The extent of irreversible cardiomyocyte necrosis after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is a major determinant of residual left ventricular (LV) function and clinical outcome. Cell therapy based on CD34+ cells has emerged as an option to help repair the myocardium and to improve outcomes.

RNA virus modulation of IFN, PI3K and apoptosis

open access: yes, 2009
Interferon (IFN) and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) are apoptosis regulators that are targeted by viruses to promote survival of infected cells.

Development of Pentaplex Reverse Transcription Droplet Digital PCR Assay for Simultaneous Detection and Absolute Quantification of HIV‐1, HIV‐2, HCV, and HBV With Internal Control

open access: yesELECTROPHORESIS, EarlyView.
Development of Pentaplex reverse transcription droplet digital PCR assay for simultaneous detection and absolute quantification of HIV‐1, HIV‐2, HCV, and HBV with internal control. The channel‐resolved multiplex strategy enables high sensitivity, robust quantification, and scalable digital PCR workflows across platforms.

High‐frequency oscillations after acute hemorrhagic traumatic brain injury: insights into posttraumatic epilepsy development

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective The development of posttraumatic epilepsy after traumatic brain injury (TBI) is potentially identifiable by measuring biomarkers of epileptogenesis, namely pathological high‐frequency oscillations (pHFOs). pHFOs are promising candidates, but it remains uncertain whether they can be detected early after TBI in clinical settings.

Pulsed Light Technology in Food Safety and Preservation: Principles, Applications, and Future Directions

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
Pulsed light technology uses short high‐intensity broad‐spectrum flashes (200–1100 nm) to inactivate microbes via DNA damage. It preserves food quality, extends shelf life, and works on liquids, meats, and produce, often combined with other hurdles for enhanced efficacy.

open access: yes, 2007
Evolution after liver transplantation (LT) in mixed cirrhosis (hepatitis C(HCV)+alcohol) is unknown. Moreover, antiviral treatment with pegylatedinterferon+ ribavirin is the only therapy for recurrent hepatitis C and it is unknown if response is ...
