The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.

Memory-based mediated interactions between rigid particulate inclusions in viscoelastic environments [PDF]
Many practically relevant materials combine properties of viscous fluids and elastic solids to viscoelastic behavior. Our focus is on the induced dynamic behavior of damped finite-sized particulate inclusions in such substances. We explicitly describe history-dependent interactions that emerge between the embedded particles.

Viscoelasticity Imaging of Biological Tissues and Single Cells Using Shear Wave Propagation
Changes in biomechanical properties of biological soft tissues are often associated with physiological dysfunctions. Since biological soft tissues are hydrated, viscoelasticity is likely suitable to represent its solid-like behavior using elasticity and ...

AISI 304L stainless steel powder is mixed with silicon nitride (Si3N4) powder and processed by PBF‐LB/M, allowing partial retention of Si3N4. The numerical approach effectively predicts the Si3N4 powder homogeneity and N content distribution on the powder bed. Recent studies have focused on the alloying of nitrogen (N) in high‐alloy stainless steels by

Nonlinear viscoelastic dynamics of nano-confined water [PDF]
The viscoelastic dynamics of nano-confined water is studied by means of atomic force microscopy (AFM). We observe a nonlinear viscoelastic behavior remarkably similar to that widely observed in metastable complex fluids. We show that the origin of the measured nonlinear viscoelasticity in nano-confined water is a strain rate dependent relaxation time ...

Viscoelasticity of the extracellular matrix (ECM) plays a critical part in controlling cell behavior. However, the structure-related viscoelasticity of the synthetic ECM and its mechanism are rarely reported.

In this study, exciting new bi‐/multi‐linear elastic behavior of soft elastic composites that accompany the activation of wrinkling in the embedded interfacial layers is analyzed. The new features and performance of these composite materials, including dramatic enhancements in energy storage, can be tailored by the concentration of interfacial layers ...

Dispersion and attenuation for an acoustic wave equation consistent with viscoelasticity [PDF]
An acoustic wave equation for pressure accounting for viscoelastic attenuation is derived from viscoelastic equations of motion. It differs significantly from the equations proposed by Szabo. Dispersion and attenuation associated with the viscoelastic wave equation is examined.

Nonlinear Intelligent Control of Two Link Robot Arm by Considering Human Voluntary Components
This paper proposes a nonlinear intelligent control of a two link robot arm by considering human voluntary components. In general, human arm viscoelastic properties are regulated in different manners according to various task requirements.
