Computational modelling of cracks in viscoplastic media [PDF]
A newly developed numerical model is used to simulate propagating cracks in a strain softening viscoplastic medium. The model allows the simulation of displacement discontinuities independently of a finite element mesh.

On the thermodynamics of stress rate in the evolution of back stress in viscoplasticity [PDF]
A thermodynamic foundation using the concept of internal state variables is presented for the kinematic description of a viscoplastic material. Three different evolution equations for the back stress are considered.

Models of nonlinear kinematic hardening based on different versions of rate-independent maxwell fluid [PDF]
Different models of finite strain plasticity with a nonlinear kinematic hardening are analyzed in a systematic way. All the models are based on a certain formulation of a rate-independent Maxwell fluid, which is used to render the evolution of backstresses.

Finite element implementation of state variable-based viscoplasticity models [PDF]
The implementation of state variable-based viscoplasticity models is made in a general purpose finite element code for structural applications of metals deformed at elevated temperatures.

MODELLING OF SILO DISCHARGE AND FILLING PROBLEMS BY THE MATERIAL POINT METHOD
The problems of flow of a granular material in the processes of silo discharge and filling are considered. Dynamic, two-dimensional problems are analyzed, both the plane and axisymmetric ones.

A tridimensional finite element approach to model a tunnel with shotcrete and precast concrete
This paper describes a numerical simulation with 3D finite elements of a tunnel. The viscoplastic law of Perzyna represents the rockmass behavior. The concrete, shotcrete or precast, is modeled as a viscoelastic material through the Maxwell and Kelvin ...

Viscoplastic constitutive models for zero-thickness interface elements, formulation and applications [PDF]
An energy-based work-softening visco-plastic model for zero-thickness interface elements has been developed as an extension of an existing elastic-perfectly-viscoplastic formulation.

Numerical Analysis of Resource Characteristics of Structural Elements under Thermocycling Loading [PDF]
We discuss methodological aspects of assessment of the service life of structures and devices used in new technologies, paying a particular attention to non-stationary thermomechanical loading of “dangerous” zones of the systems under investigation.
