Viscoplasticity of Geomaterials
1994First one describes the main rheological properties exhibited by geomaterials and how to choose the most appropriate constitutive equation in order to describe these dominant properties. One presents the procedure to be followed in order to determine all constitutive functions and parameters necessary to describe transient and stationary creep ...

Viscoplastic–viscoplastic displacement in a plane channel with interfacial tension effects
Chemical Engineering Science, 2013Abstract The inertialess immiscible displacement of a viscoplastic material by a second viscoplastic material in a pressure-driven capillary plane channel is numerically analyzed. The fluids are modeled as Bingham materials with a regularization function proposed by Papanastasiou (1987) .

A Theory of Multiaxial Anisotropic Viscoplasticity
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1981A theory of anisotropic viscoplasticity is developed. It is compared with and shown to reduce to existing theories under appropriate restrictions. The theory accommodates anisotropic hardening laws which, by means of Lagrangian mappings in stress space, incorporate experimentally observed yield surface distortion as well as kinematic and isotropic flow-

Plasticity and Viscoplasticity
1989The theory of plasticity describes the mechanics of deformation in plastically deforming solids, and, as applied to metals and alloys, it is based on experimental studies of the relations between stresses and strains under simple loading conditions.

Visualization of an annular viscoplastic jet
Journal of Visualization, 2013The current study investigates the global flow field characteristics of a submerged annular viscoplastic jet. The mass and momentum conservation equations, governing the steady laminar flow field, along with the Bingham rheological model, are numerically solved using a finite-difference scheme.

Numerical Integration of Viscoplastic Problems
ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 2000AbstractViscoplastic deformation is characterized by a combined system of balance equations for the displacements and evolution equations for the internal variables. The paper presents a very efficient algorithm to solve the nonlinear system that arises from the application of the Finite Element Method in combination with an implicit time ...
