Functional Finishing of Viscose Fiber

open access: yes, 2022
The aim of this work is to improve the smoothness of the fiber surfaces and improving the fire resistance and antibacterial effect of viscose fiber with antibacterial, flame retardant and protein finishing agent. The viscose fiber had a higher LOI value after flame retardant treatment than the original fiber samples.

Adsorption of SOX and NOX in activated viscose fibers [PDF]

open access: yesAnais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências, 2015
SOx and NOx are emissions resulting from combustion processes and are the main agents that contribute to the formation of acid rain, which causes harm to humans and the environment. Several techniques for removing these pollutants are applied in i.e. oil refineries, thermoelectric that use petroleum oils and vehicular pollution.

Carbonization of special viscose fibers

open access: yesReinforced Plastics, 2017
The focus of the work was to clarify the influence of the cross section shape of the viscose fibers and additives on the carbonization process and the resulting carbon fiber properties. Overall, the shape of cross section of carbon fibers produced was determined by the initial fiber morphology of the precursor viscose fibers.

Extensional viscosity and thinning of a fiber suspension thread [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Fluids, 2021
The extensional effective viscosity, ηe, of a suspension of solid cylindrical fibers in a Newtonian liquid is measured from the gravitational stretching of a quasi-steady jet. We vary the lengthto-diameter aspect ratio of the fibers, a, from ∼ 10 to ∼ 10^2 , and the particle volume fraction, φ, in the range aφ ∼ 0.1 − 2.
