Viscosity Correlation for 2,3,3,3-Tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234yf) Based on the Extended Corresponding States Model

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2010
The viscosity of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234yf) has been successfully correlated with the extended corresponding states (ECS) model for transport properties.

Thermo-physical evaluation of dielectric mineral oil-based nitride and oxide nanofluids for thermal transport applications

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2019
The thermal, physical and morphological characteristics of dielectric insulating oil - based nanofluids were investigated. The nanofluids were produced by the two-step method, homogeneously dispersing AlN and TiO2 nanoparticles within insulating mineral ...

Soft‐Layered Composites with Wrinkling‐Activated Multi‐Linear Elastic Behavior, Stress Mitigation, and Enhanced Strain Energy Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, exciting new bi‐/multi‐linear elastic behavior of soft elastic composites that accompany the activation of wrinkling in the embedded interfacial layers is analyzed. The new features and performance of these composite materials, including dramatic enhancements in energy storage, can be tailored by the concentration of interfacial layers ...

EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF BEARING BOXES FRICTION DEPENDING ON LOAD SPEED AND OIL TEMPERATURE [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of the Oradea University: Fascicle Management and Technological Engineering, 2016
The subjects of this paper are the bearing boxes of a testing rig for chain drives. Friction in transmission without bearings is calculated by subtracting the bearing friction from the global friction.

Viscosities of the Gay-Berne nematic liquid crystal [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
We present molecular dynamics simulation measurements of the viscosities of the Gay-Berne phenomenological model of liquid crystals in the nematic and isotropic phases. The temperature dependence of the rotational and shear viscosities, including the nonmonotonic behavior of one shear viscosity are in good agreement with experimental data.

Commensurability Effects in Viscosity of Nanoconfined Water. [PDF]

open access: yesACS Nano, 2016
The rate of water flow through hydrophobic nanocapillaries is greatly enhanced as compared to that expected from macroscopic hydrodynamics. This phenomenon is usually described in terms of a relatively large slip length, which is in turn defined by such ...

Bridging Nature and Technology: A Perspective on Role of Machine Learning in Bioinspired Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Machine learning (ML) is revolutionizing the development of bioinspired ceramics. This article investigates how ML can be used to design new ceramic materials with exceptional performance, inspired by the structures found in nature. The research highlights how ML can predict material properties, optimize designs, and create advanced models to unlock a ...

Bulk viscosity of a gas of neutrinos and coupled scalar particles, in the era of recombination [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Rev. D74 (2006) 043527, 2006
Bulk viscosity may serve to damp sound waves in a system of neutrinos coupled to very light scalar particles, in the era after normal neutrino decoupling but before recombination. We calculate the bulk viscosity parameter in a minimal scheme involving the coupling of the two systems.
