Viscosity in Modified Gravity [PDF]

open access: yesEntropy, 2012
A bulk viscosity is introduced in the formalism of modified gravity. It is shownthat, based on a natural scaling law for the viscosity, a simple solution can be found forquantities such as the Hubble parameter and the energy density. These solutions mayincorporate a viscosity-induced Big Rip singularity.

Review of Viscosity Modifier Lubricant Additives [PDF]

open access: yesTribology Letters, 2018
This article reviews viscosity modifiers, additives that increase the viscosity of lubricating oils. Viscosity modifiers are high molecular weight polymers whose functionality is derived from their thickening efficiency, viscosity–temperature relationship, and shear stability.

Dynamical heterogeneity in aging colloidal glasses of Laponite [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Glasses behave as solids due to their long relaxation time; however the origin of this slow response remains a puzzle. Growing dynamic length scales due to cooperative motion of particles are believed to be central to the understanding of both the slow ...

Impact of viscosity modifier on asphalt properties used for bus rapid transit lane in Chengdu

open access: yesJournal of Modern Transportation, 2017
In order to find the effect of different viscosity modifier dosages on asphalt binder’s performance in bus rapid transit lanes in the city of Chengdu, three different viscosity modifiers were analyzed: TAFPACK-super (TPS), high-viscosity additive (HVA ...

Impact behaviour of nylon-rubber blends: 5. Influence of the mechanical properties of the elastomer [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
Blends of 90wt% nylon-6 and 10wt% impact modifier were prepared. As impact modifiers were used: EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) rubber, EPM (ethylene propylene monomer) rubber, polyethylene, four poly(ether esters) and some commercial impact ...

Study on new viscosity modifying agents [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Engineering Research, 2015
In this work, we synthesized a new viscosity modifying agents with AA, AM as monomer and ammonium persulfate as initiator. Through the discussion on the AA dosage, the polymerization conditions, we determined the optimum technological conditions of the new VMA: the optimum molar ratio of AA to AM is 1:1, the dosage of initiator is 2wt% of all the ...
