EFFECT OF POLYMER MODIFICATION ON ASPHALT CEMENT PROPERTIES

open access: yesDiyala Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2016
As traffic volumes and axle loads have continued to increase over the years, it has been found that asphalt cement used in road construction has a less capable of rutting resistance, thermal cracking, fatigue damage, stripping, and temperature ...

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

The slope equations: a universal relationship between local structure and glass transition temperature

open access: yes, 1998
In this article, we present a universal relationship between the glass transition temperature $T_g$ and the local glass structure. The derivation of the simplest expression of this relationship and some comparisons with experimental $T_g$ values have ...

Hands‐on protocol for preparing water‐soluble fractions from agri‐food samples for NMR‐based metabolomics analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This research protocol outlines a workflow for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)‐based metabolomics in the agri‐food sector. Using two case studies—strawberry leaves (solid matrix) and wine (liquid matrix)—it details the procedures for sample preparation, data acquisition, and processing.

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

High performance ammonium nitrate propellant [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
A high performance propellant having greatly reduced hydrogen chloride emission is presented. It is comprised of: (1) a minor amount of hydrocarbon binder (10-15%), (2) at least 85% solids including ammonium nitrate as the primary oxidizer (about 40% to ...
