Mobile Phone Camera-Based Indoor Visible Light Communications With Rotation Compensation

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2016
Downlink visible light communication (VLC) using a mobile phone camera is presented. The proposed scheme consists of an 8 $\times$ 8 light-emitting diode (LED) array for data transmission and eight white LEDs for an adequate level of illumination.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Laser-Based Mobile Visible Light Communication System

open access: yesSensors
Mobile visible light communication (VLC) is key for integrating lighting and communication applications in the 6G era, yet there exists a notable gap in experimental research on mobile VLC.

Visible light reduces C. elegans longevity

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
The nematode C. elegans is known to alter its behavior in response to UV light. Here, the authors show that visible light triggers photo-oxidative stress and a wider stress response in C.

Visible-Light-Induced Regioselective Dicarbonylation of Indolizines with Oxoaldehydes via Direct C–H Functionalization

open access: yes, 2020
A metal-free system for regioselective dehydrogenative cross-couplings between indolizines and oxoaldehydes catalyzed by visible light under mild conditions has been described.

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Indoor Localization Using K-Pairwise Light Emitting Diode Image-Sensor-Based Visible Light Positioning

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2018
A great deal of research has been devoted to studying indoor localization schemes for the development of location-based services. This study investigated an indoor localization system, including subsystems of nonline-of-sight (NLOS) image-sensor-based ...

Using Equalizers to Increase Data Rates in Organic Photonic Devices for Visible Light Communications Systems

open access: yes, 2014
This thesis proposes to marry two separate technologies together. The first technology is that of visible light communications (VLC), and the second is small molecule and polymer organic photonic devices.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.
