Visible light communications (VLC)

open access: yes, 2015
New solid-state lighting is successfully developing and more efficient LEDs are quickly replacing conventional light sources. This particular scenario offers new possibilities where visible light can also be used for communications, especially in electromagnetic sensitive areas as are aircrafts, presenting a solution to the looming electromagnetic ...

Effect of Host Anisotropy on Phosphorescent Emitter Orientation and Light Outcoupling in OLEDs

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
The orientation of the emissive transition dipole moment of a cage‐type Iridium complex can be tuned by the anisotropic alignment of the cohost material, which is expressed as the S$S$ parameter of the film. Thus, the external quantum efficiency of OLEDs can be further enhanced to reach values above 30%.

An Efficient Diamond Raman Amplification Scheme Based on Adaptive Temporal Synchronization

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
This work reveals an adaptive temporal synchronization effect in delayed diamond Raman amplification, where the Stokes pulse shifts toward the fundamental peak. A periodic amplification scheme based on this phenomenon enables efficient pump recycling and enhanced energy conversion, offering a robust, delay‐tolerant strategy for advanced nonlinear ...

Tunable Multifunctional Terahertz Coding Metasurface for Polarization Manipulation

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
Coding metasurfaces (CMs) offer versatile control over electromagnetic waves. Herein, a tunable multifunctional terahertz (THz) metasurface integrated with vanadium dioxide (VO2) is presented, enabling propagation‐phase manipulation of linearly polarized waves and hybrid‐phase control of circularly polarized waves.
