Knowledge and attitudes of visitors to patients in contact isolation
American Journal of Infection Control, 2014In this study, conducted at a tertiary care center, we surveyed visitors to patients in contact isolation to assess their knowledge and attitudes about contact isolation. Although response rates were low, we found that visitors had an overall positive perception and understanding of contact isolation.

Injuries to dental patients and visitors
Journal of Dentistry, 1991Reports were studied of all incidents of injury and accidents involving outpatients or visitors to Bristol Dental Hospital between 1980 and 1988 inclusive. Seventy-two incidents were reported, two-thirds of which occurred during or just after dental treatment, and usually involved oral soft tissues or teeth.

Ex-patient Visitors to the Hospital Psychiatric Unit
Psychiatric Services, 1978An informal study of visits to an inpatient psychiatric unit by former patients indicated that such visiting was a common occurrence, more prevalent than staff realized. Most ex-patient visitors were chronically impaired individuals who were making a marginal community adjustment and did not use aftercare services.
