Water quality index applied to rivers in the Vistula river basin in Poland

A new method of a water quality index has been proposed. The unit indices were determined from the values of individual parameters using continuous functions. The base for such functions were the four water quality classes used in Poland. The summarized WQI is the square root of the harmonic mean of squares of unit indices.

Strengthening steel bridge across Vistula River in Poland

<p>Superstructure of Vistula Bridge near Chełmno consists of five steel spans with riveted framework. Change of load capacity class demanded strengthening of all tension elements. Strengthening of upper and bottom flange main truss girders was proposed with Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) strips.

<p>The construction of the arch bridge in Toruń was one of the greatest and more spectacular engineering projects implemented during the recent years.
