Metals in edible fish from Vistula River and Dead Vistula River channel, Baltic Sea [PDF]

Metals including Al, Ba, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, K, Mg, Mn, Na, Ni, Pb, Sr and Zn were determined in muscle tissue of 12 fish species by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES) and cold vapour-atomic absorption spectroscopy (CV-AAS).

The Vistula River Crossing in Poland

This case study examines the environmental damage caused by the construction, between 1998 and 2000, of the Yamal Western Europe gas pipeline where it crosses the Vistula River in central Poland. Because damages occurred in the past, an ex post perspective is used to quantify the environmental damage.

Water quality index applied to rivers in the Vistula river basin in Poland

A new method of a water quality index has been proposed. The unit indices were determined from the values of individual parameters using continuous functions. The base for such functions were the four water quality classes used in Poland. The summarized WQI is the square root of the harmonic mean of squares of unit indices.
