Biological Flora of Britain and Ireland: Cytisus scoparius*

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 113, Issue 7, Page 1877-1933, July 2025.
Broom is an attractive and common native plant across Britain, Ireland and most of Europe, and yet it is considered a harmful and invasive weed around the rest of the world. This is aided by broom thriving on poor dry soils, helped by using green stems for photosynthesis and having root nodules to fix nitrogen.

The Vistula river discharge front - surface observations [PDF]

open access: yesOceanologia, 1995
The spreading of Vistula river water has been studied on the basis of surface spatial distributions of water properties. The horizontal divergence field of the gradient of a given property is analysed to find the main directions of surface water transport. This shows that advection in the direction perpendicular to the frontal line is weak. Examples of

Design and Operational Innovations in Adapting the Existing Merchant River Fleet to Cost-Effective Shipping

open access: yesPolish Maritime Research, 2019
Modernisation of the existing river fleet adapted for the local conditions of the Middle and Lower Vistula can be considered as a solution to slow down the progressive decrease of river transport in this area. The implementation of technical improvements,

Bacterial community structure influenced by Coscinodiscus sp. in the Vistula river plume* This research was carried out with the support of a grant from the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education (No. NN304 025334) and statutory activities of the Department of Fisheries Oceanography and Marine Ecology of the National Marine Fisheries Research Institute (project P1-2).

open access: yesOceanologia, 2014
The Gulf of Gdańsk is influenced by freshwater inflow from the River Vistula and by a wind-driven current along the coast. Bacterial communities from five stations along a salinity gradient were sampled during one day and analysed by terminal restriction
