VISUAL ACUITY WITHIN THE AREA CENTRALIS AND ITS RELATION TO EYE MOVEMENTS AND FIXATION
, 1928Using an arrangement of the Ives visual acuity test with other special apparatus which is described, three subjects were studied as to the visual acuity of a central retinal region (including the fovea) with a radius of 85' or 0.42 millimeter from the ...

Reproducibility of Visual Acuity Assessment in Normal and Low Visual Acuity
Strabismus, 2007To assess the reproducibility of measurements of visual acuity in both the upper and lower range of visual acuity. The retroilluminated ETDRS 1 and ETDRS 2 charts (Precision Vision) were used for measurement of visual acuity. Both charts use the same letters. The sequence of the charts followed a pseudorandomized protocol. The examination distance was 4.

Abstract In our original report (Weiskrantz et al., 1974), we used an Ives apparatus that generates a sine-wave grating when light is passed through a pair of diffraction gratings (Moiré fringes; the apparatus is the same as that described more fully in Weiskrantz and Cowey 1963).

The Freiburg Visual Acuity Test???Automatic Measurement of Visual Acuity
Optometry and Vision Science, 1996The Freiburg Visual Acuity test is an automated procedure for self-administered measurement of visual acuity. Landolt-Cs are presented on a monitor in one of eight orientations. The subject presses one of eight buttons, which are spatially arranged on a response box according to the eight possible positions of the Landolt-Cs' gap.
