Statistical study of visual binaries [PDF]
In this paper, some statistical distributions of wide pairs included in Double Star Catalogue are investigated. Frequency distributions and testing hypothesis are derived for some basic parameters of visual binaries. The results reached indicate that, it was found that the magnitude difference is distributed exponentially, which means that the majority

Abstract Background and purpose For postoperative breast cancer patients, deformable image registration (DIR) is challenged due to the large deformations and non‐correspondence caused by tumor resection and clip insertion. To deal with it, three metrics (fiducial‐, region‐, and intensity‐based) were jointly used in DIR algorithm for improved accuracy ...

The spin-orbit alignment of visual binaries [PDF]
Context. The angle between the stellar spin-axis and the orbital plane of a stellar or planetary companion has important implications for the formation and evolution of such systems. A study by Hale (1994, AJ, 107, 306) found that binaries with separations a ≲ 30 au are preferentially aligned while binaries on wider orbits are frequently misaligned ...

HD 202772A b: A Transiting Hot Jupiter around a Bright, Mildly Evolved Star in a Visual Binary Discovered by TESS [PDF]
We report the first confirmation of a hot Jupiter discovered by the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) mission: HD 202772A b. The transit signal was detected in the data from TESS Sector 1, and was confirmed to be of planetary origin through ...

Visual Binary Stars with Partially Missing Data: Introducing Multiple Imputation in Astrometric Analysis [PDF]
Partial measurements of relative position are a relatively common event during the observation of visual binary stars. However, these observations are typically discarded when estimating the orbit of a visual pair.

Visual Orbits and Alignments of Planet-hosting Binary Systems
Roughly half of Solar-type planet hosts have stellar companions, so understanding how these binary companions affect the formation and evolution of planets is an important component to understanding planetary systems overall.

Binary Neural Network for Automated Visual Surface Defect Detection
As is well-known, defects precisely affect the lives and functions of the machines in which they occur, and even cause potentially catastrophic casualties. Therefore, quality assessment before mounting is an indispensable requirement for factories. Apart

A potential biomarker of cognitive impairment: The olfactory dysfunction and its genes expression
Abstract Objective Accumulation evidence has reported that olfactory impairment may be an essential clinical marker and predictor of mild cognitive impairment or Alzheimer's disease. Method Participants were enrolled in the population‐based, prospective study in Fuxin county, Liaoning province, China between 2019 and 2021.
