Pre‐Curved Everting Robots With Embedded Steering Intelligence Fabricated by CO2 Laser Welding

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Design and experimental demonstration of a laser welded growing robot for anatomically guided navigation. The robot follows an aortic arch phantom entering the branchiocephalic branch through steering by design. The figure shows the physical phantom setup, CAD defined weld geometry and full robot eversion.

Motion and Morphology Planning for Autonomous Manipulation in Clutter With a Shape‐Shifting, Variable‐Stiffness Robot

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A hybrid mobile robot with a modular Variable‐Stiffness Bridge transitions between a rigid locomotion platform and a flexible, shape‐conforming body. By enclosing objects within its deformable structure rather than relying on dedicated end effectors, the robot achieves orientation‐regulated planar transport, with conformal contact quality shown to ...

Adaptive visual target tracking algorithm based on classified-patch kernel particle filter

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Image and Video Processing, 2019
We propose a high-performance visual target tracking (VTT) algorithm based on classified-patch kernel particle filter (CKPF). Novel features of this VTT algorithm include sparse representations of the target template using the label-consistent K-singular

Designing Wire Mazes for Replicating Natural Echoes to Study Bat Biosonar Function

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A validated framework combining efficient physical modeling (multiple scattering model) and deep learning is presented to guide wire‐maze design for bat biosonar studies. This approach rapidly generates large datasets to test acoustic distinguishability among wire arrangements.

Optimizing Strategies for Non‐Invasive Prospection of Settlements in the Intertidal Zone: A Case Study From the Centre of the Drowned Medieval Village of Tolsende (Scheldt Estuary, the Netherlands)

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Medieval and early modern drowned villages in the intertidal zone of the Scheldt estuary (the Netherlands) constitute intriguing yet largely understudied components of north‐western Europe's underwater cultural heritage. Despite their high archaeological potential as time capsules of past settlement landscapes, research has remained limited ...

Moving beyond neurophobia to cultivate the neuroquisitive learner

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract “Neurophobia,” a pervasive fear of the neurological sciences, poses a significant barrier in medical education, affecting learners and physicians worldwide. Its consequences are far‐reaching, contributing to a limited neurology workforce and diminished confidence among non‐specialists in managing neurological conditions.

A Clutter Removal Method Based on the F-K Domain for Ground-Penetrating Radar in Complex Scenarios

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) is a classic geophysical exploration method that utilizes the emission and reception of electromagnetic waves to non-destructively detect target objects in the target medium.

Scaffolding visually cluttered web pages to facilitate accessibility [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the working conference on Advanced visual interfaces, 2004
Increasingly, rich and dynamic content and abundant links are making Web pages visually cluttered and widening the accessibility divide for the disabled and people with impairments. The adaptations approach of transforming Web pages has enabled users with diverse abilities to access a Web page.
