Bridging the gap: a genetically validated avian chorioallantoic membrane platform for investigation of spontaneous circulating tumor cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established the avian chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) assay as a scalable in vivo model for studying circulating tumor cells (CTCs). Human gastrointestinal tumors spontaneously released genetically validated CTCs that were detected across multiple platforms, demonstrating that the CAM model provides an accessible tool for investigating early cancer ...

A Component-Based Visual Environment Development Process

open access: yes, 2002
We present the Component-Based Visual Environment Development (CB-VED) process for building visual language environments and introduce the Visual Language Desk (VLDesk) system supporting its implementation.

MIVC: Multiple Instance Visual Component for Visual-Language Models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Vision-language models have been widely explored across a wide range of tasks and achieve satisfactory performance. However, it's under-explored how to consolidate entity understanding through a varying number of images and to align it with the pre ...

Mutant p53R273H disrupts PDPK1 homodimerization and contributes to PDPK1 activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
How mutant p53R273H drives AKT signaling is unclear. We show that p53R273H, but not wild‐type, directly binds PDPK1 via a mutation‐dependent conformational change. This interaction disrupts inhibitory PDPK1 homodimerization and enhances AKT phosphorylation.

The evolution of multi-component visual signals in darters (genus Etheostoma)

open access: yesCurrent Zoology, 2011
As complex traits evolve, each component of the trait may be under different selection pressures and could respond independently to distinct evolutionary forces.

Audio-Visual Spatiotemporal Perceptual Training Enhances the P300 Component in Healthy Older Adults

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2018
In older adults, cognitive abilities, such as those associated with vision and hearing, generally decrease with age. According to several studies, audio-visual perceptual training can improve perceived competence regarding visual and auditory stimuli ...

Characterization of therapeutic antibodies targeting lymphatic and vascular resistance factor for the treatment of hypervascularized and highly metastatic cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LVRF (lymphatic and vascular resistance factor) is a VEGFA splice variant upregulated in response to anti‐angiogenic therapy that fosters tumor adaptation through enhanced vascularization, lymphangiogenesis, and metastatic dissemination. Targeting LVRF with fully human neutralizing antibodies disrupts these processes and limits resistant tumor growth ...

Component-Specific Advantages in Visual Attention Across Experience Groups: A UFOV Study

open access: yesBehavioral Sciences
Visual attention involves the efficient allocation of processing resources across space and under conditions of visual competition. This study examined whether experience-related advantages in visual attention are expressed uniformly or selectively ...

USP7 inhibits FOXO1 activity in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia cells enhancing cell survival

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CLL cells rely on BCR‐mediated signalling for survival and proliferation in part through suppression of FOXO1. FOXO1 activity is regulated by a plethora of post‐translational modifications including phosphorylation and ubiquitination. We demonstrated that dual inhibition of BCR signalling and the deubiquitinase USP7 activates FOXO1, modulating its ...

Visual Identity Components Of Tourist Destination

open access: yes, 2014
In the world of modern communications, visual identity has predominant influence on the overall success of tourist destinations, but despite of these, the problem of designing thriving tourist destination visual identity and their components are hardly addressed.
