A novel ternary-emission fluorescence sensor was proposed by post-imprinting mixing blue-/green-/red-emission bovine hemoglobin (BHb) imprinted polymers (b-MIPs, g-MIPs, and r-MIPs) at a proper ratio and realized the multiplexed and visual detection of ...

Visual detection of distant objects
Proceedings of 1993 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS '93), 2002Taking an autonomous road vehicle as an example, approaches and methods for object detection (this being the first step of obstacle recognition) are discussed. Vision, using a single passive camera as the primary sensor and a real-time vision system for analyzing the resulting image sequence, is found to be the best approach.

A Visual Grammar for Face Detection
2010Several methods have been developed for face detection with certain success, however these tend to fail under difficult conditions such as partial occlusions and changes in orientation and illumination. We propose a novel technique for face detection based on a visual grammar.

Clinical Visual Caries Detection
2009The reliable and reproducible detection of dental caries by clinical examination has been recognized as a problem for decades with very variable approaches being taken to recognize and stage lesions along the continuum of caries--from very small initial lesions, just visible to the human eye, through more established white- and brown-spot lesions, to ...

A model of visual threshold detection
Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1977Abstract A model of visual incremental threshold detection is presented, having the following features. 1. (1) From Crozier's Law we deduce that all thresholds, for conventional as well as for noisy images, are ultimately determined by noise. Other evidence, which is described, supports this conclusion. 2.

Mechanisms of visual motion detection
Nature Neuroscience, 2000Visual motion is processed by neurons in primary visual cortex that are sensitive to spatial orientation and speed. Many models of local velocity computation are based on a second stage that pools the outputs of first-stage neurons selective for different orientations, but the nature of this pooling remains controversial.

Visual marking and change detection
Cognitive Processing, 2007The preview benefit from prior exposure of response-irrelevant (distracter) objects in visual search has been accounted for in terms of top-down inhibition (i.e. visual marking), bottom-up abrupt onset capture, or asynchrony-dependent perceptual segregation.

Video Visual Relation Detection
Proceedings of the 25th ACM international conference on Multimedia, 2017As a bridge to connect vision and language, visual relations between objects in the form of relation triplet $langle subject,predicate,object\rangle$, such as "person-touch-dog'' and "cat-above-sofa'', provide a more comprehensive visual content understanding beyond objects.
