Vector field visualization with streamlines [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
We have recently developed an algorithm for vector field visualization with oriented streamlines, able to depict the flow directions everywhere in a dense vector field and the sense of the local orientations. The algorithm has useful applications in the visualization of the director field in nematic liquid crystals.

Effects of Field of View and Visual Complexity on Virtual Reality Training Effectiveness for a Visual Scanning Task

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, 2015
Virtual reality training systems are commonly used in a variety of domains, and it is important to understand how the realism of a training simulation influences training effectiveness.

Visual Discomfort and Depth-of-Field

open access: yesi-Perception, 2013
Visual discomfort has been reported for certain visual stimuli and under particular viewing conditions, such as stereoscopic viewing. In stereoscopic viewing, visual discomfort can be caused by a conflict between accommodation and convergence cues that may specify different distances in depth.

4-YEAR FOLLOW UP OF PATIENTS AFTER GONIOTREPANATION

open access: yesZdravniški Vestnik, 2002
Background. To present the success of goniotrepanation in patients with glaucoma 4 years after surgery.Methods. We performed follow-up of 32 patients (50 eyes), who had undergone Fronimopoulus goniotrepanation without use of antimetabolites in our ...

Multi-line Adaptive Perimetry (MAP): A New Procedure for Quantifying Visual Field Integrity for Rapid Assessment of Macular Diseases. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
PurposeIn order to monitor visual defects associated with macular degeneration (MD), we present a new psychophysical assessment called multiline adaptive perimetry (MAP) that measures visual field integrity by simultaneously estimating regions associated

Clinical utility of cerebrospinal fluid biomarkers measured by LUMIPULSE® system

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, Volume 9, Issue 12, Page 1898-1909, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Objectives Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease (AD) are well‐established in research settings, but their use in routine clinical practice remains a largely unexploited potential. Here, we examined the relationship between CSF biomarkers, measured by a fully automated immunoassay platform, and brain β‐amyloid (Aβ ...

Visual Cue Integration for Small Target Motion Detection in Natural Cluttered Backgrounds [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
The robust detection of small targets against cluttered background is important for future artificial visual systems in searching and tracking applications. The insects' visual systems have demonstrated excellent ability to avoid predators, find prey or identify conspecifics - which always appear as small dim speckles in the visual field.

Visual sensitivity tester [PDF]

open access: yes, 1972
Testing device uses closed loop film cassettes to project programmed visual stimuli on screen which the observer views through a lens making the stimuli appear to be at optical infinity.
