AAPM‐RSS Medical Physics Practice Guideline 9.b: SRS‐SBRT

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract The purpose of this Medical Physics Practice Guideline (MPPG) is to describe the minimum level of medical physics support deemed prudent for the practice of linear‐accelerator, photon‐based (linac) stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) services.

Characterizing Visual Intents for People with Low Vision through Eye Tracking [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Accessing visual information is crucial yet challenging for people with low vision due to their visual conditions (e.g., low visual acuity, limited visual field). However, unlike blind people, low vision people have and prefer using their functional vision in daily tasks.

Macroprudential oversight, risk communication and visualization [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
This paper discusses the role of risk communication in macroprudential oversight and of visualization in risk communication. Beyond the soar in data availability and precision, the transition from firm-centric to system-wide supervision imposes vast data needs.

High‐precision localization of radiation isocenter using Winston‐Lutz test: Impact of collimator angle, phantom position, and field size

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This study aimed to evaluate the impact of collimator angle, ball bearing (BB) phantom position, and field size on the accuracy of Winston‐Lutz (WL) test–derived radiation isocenters. Methods WL tests were performed on four TrueBeam linear accelerators.

Visual fields in a chloroquine treatment

open access: yesClinical Optometry, 2014
Purpose: In this study, we describe contrast sensitivity losses in the visual field of a patient affected by chloroquine toxicity, measured with stimuli favoring different visual mechanisms. We have compared these results with those of other, usual clinical tests.

The State of the Art in Multilayer Network Visualization [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Modelling relationships between entities in real-world systems with a simple graph is a standard approach. However, reality is better embraced as several interdependent subsystems (or layers). Recently the concept of a multilayer network model has emerged from the field of complex systems.
