MEASUREMENT OF THE VISUAL FIELD
Perceptual and Motor Skills, 2003There is increasing evidence that concurrent visual and nonvisual tasks not only reduce the size but also result in systematic deformation of the visual field. Given such complex changes in the visual field, appropriate representation and measurement of its shape is all important.

I. Introduction The clinician commonly evaluates the macula by examination with various optical instruments and by testing visual acuity. We are all aware of the frequent inconsistencies between visual acuity and the objective information obtained by careful fundus examination.

The actual influence of the nose on the nasal visual field was examined by perimetric studies. Regardless of size of target stimulus or position of the face, the nasal 180° meridian could not be expanded beyond 64°. No significant differences were found in the extent of nasal field amongst Caucasians, Orientals, and Negroes. Scotopic isopters similarly

Visualization blackboard-visualizing bioelectric fields
IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications, 1993A toolkit developed to visualize cardiac electrophysiology is discussed. The geometric models that play a crucial role in the analysis, manipulation, and visualization of cardiac bioelectric data and the two separate data visualization systems developed for quick, flexible viewing of spatially distributed data and for displaying selected frames of data

Visual Function Tests: Visual Fields
2022Visual field tests, also known as perimetry tests, are used to assess progression of ophthalmic diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa (RP) by monitoring changes in a patient's visual field (VF). VF loss corresponds to damage at any point in the visual pathway, including the retina, such as in RP. Damage to different parts of this pathway corresponds to

We develop a prediction model for classifying an eye according to glaucoma status based on its visual field. We develop measures of both diffuse and localized defects in the visual field as potential predictors of glaucoma. To identify predictors of abnormal fields, we must describe the variability in the fields of normal eyes, hence we first model the

VISUAL FIELD SCREENING WITH AN OPHTHALMOSCOPE∗
American journal of optometry and archives of American Academy of Optometry, 1970ABSTRACT An ophthalmoscope may be modified so that a test target is projected on the retina in the center of the illuminated area. The patient reports the presence or absence of the target as the examiner notes the area on which it is located. Methods for modifying the ophthalmoscope, a series

ABSTRACT Diminishing telescope systems designed to widen the field of view of patients with tunnel vision are described. Theoretical analysis suggests that telescope systems will greatly improve visual search times and diminish the difficulties of such patients.

The Visual Field: Simultaneous Order in Immediate Visual Awareness
2014When you open your eyes in bright daylight, you become visually aware of the scene in front of you. That is to say, generically, for you might be blind, hallucinate, and so forth. To many people visual awareness appears three-fold extended in space, and evolving over time. One makes out objects and processes in intricate interrelations.

Visual Fields: Visual Field Test Strategies
2009The question can be answered in many ways. First of all, there are visual field devices used to perform automated static perimetry and those for manual kinetic perimetry. Automatedtests utilize computer programs to vary test speed, target size, and luminance.
