Creating new stories for praxis: navigations, narrations, neonarratives [PDF]
This paper considers differing understandings about the role and praxis of studio-based research in the visual arts. This is my attempt to unpack this nexus and place it in a context of credibility for our field.

Sensory fields: the visual and the bodily
AbstractPhilosophers of perception have been readier to postulate the existence of a visual field than to acknowledge sensory fields in other modalities. In this paper, I argue that the set of phenomenal features that philosophers have relied on when positing a visual field aptly characterise, mutatis mutandis, bodily sensation. I argue, in particular,

Visualizing the Computational Intelligence Field [PDF]
In this paper, we visualize the structure and the evolution of the computational intelligence (CI) field. Based on our visualizations, we analyze the way in which the CI field is divided into several subfields. The visualizations provide insight into the characteristics of each subfield and into the relations between the subfields.

Vector field visualization with streamlines [PDF]
We have recently developed an algorithm for vector field visualization with oriented streamlines, able to depict the flow directions everywhere in a dense vector field and the sense of the local orientations. The algorithm has useful applications in the visualization of the director field in nematic liquid crystals.
