In less-affluent countries, the incidence is increasing because the survival rate of premature babies is improving. As a consequence, the mortality of children with complex medical problems has begun to decline.

Identification of visual impairments
2019The development of optimal visual function is important for the future quality of life. Early recognition of morphological abnormalities, such as cataracts, allow for early intervention and a reduction in long-term impairment.
