Advancing Age Modulates Associations Between Cognitive Impairment and Brain Volumes in Early MS
ABSTRACT Introduction Cognitive impairment is common in multiple sclerosis (MS), but manifestations following the first demyelinating event are relatively unexplored. We investigated cross‐sectional associations between magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)–derived brain volumes and the presence of cognitive impairment outcomes five years after the first ...

The visual perception of metal
The present research was designed to examine how the presence or absence of ambient light influences the appearance of metal. The stimuli depicted three possible objects that were illuminated by three possible patterns of illumination. These were generated by a single point light source, two rectangular area lights, or projecting light onto a ...

Human‐like evaluation method for object motion detection algorithms
This study proposes a new method to evaluate the performance of algorithms for moving object detection (MODA) in video sequences. The proposed method is based on human performance metric intervals, instead of ideal metric values (0 or 1) which are ...

Linking the Laminar Circuits of Visual Cortex to Visual Perception [PDF]
A detailed neural model is being developed of how the laminar circuits of visual cortical areas V1 and V2 implement context-sensitive binding processes such as perceptual grouping and attention, and develop and learn in a stable way.
