Repetitive Grasping After Stroke Assisted by Functional Electrical Stimulation
To understand whether FES can be useful in assisting functional grasping after stroke, the following requirements were investigated: (i) producing sufficient force, (ii) sustaining this force for an adequate duration, (iii) successfully releasing the object, and (iv) monitoring the onset of muscle fatigue during repetitive grasping.

In Vitro Hemocompatibility of the BiVACOR Total Artificial Heart in Continuous and Pulsatile Flow
BiVACOR's total artificial heart generates remarkably similar hemocompatibility when operated with a pulse or during continuous flow. Under both conditions, hemolysis and von Willebrand Factor multimers were similar to a commercial reference device after 6 h in vitro evaluation.

We have developed a unique method for pre‐clinical heart valve prostheses evaluation of calcification propensity. Results from the test can directly be translated into improvements of prostheses design, materials, and anti‐calcification treatments, and therefore have a significant impact on heart valve prostheses quality and patient care in the future.
