Multimodal Platforms for Light‐Mediated Organic Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Optobioelectronic devices are paving the way for different types of interfacing with cells, in addition to classical electrical interfacing. Here, a future perspective for research in this field is discussed, in which different classes of light‐responsive materials are combined to create a highly dynamic interface that truly integrates with biological ...

Artificial Vision - Visual Prosthesis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Research in Business and Technology, 2017
A visual prosthesis is a device that captures visual images, convert light energy into electrical pulses, and deliver electrical pulses to the retina which helps blinds to restore vision artificially and uses an optogenetic approach that involves the reverse engineering of the retained visionary pathway on the visual system to become photosensitive ...

Visual prosthesis for corneal blindness

open access: yes, 2019
Objective: Corneal opacity is a leading cause of reversible blindness worldwide. Current treatments such as corneal transplantation and keratoprosthesis have fundamental limitations (i.e. 13 million remain on corneal transplant waitlists). An electronic display based corneal visual prosthesis placed[for full text, please go to the a.m. URL]

Revision of reversed shoulder arthroplasty : is a reoperation possible? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Introduction. As the number of reversed shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) procedures increases, the revision rate will also increase. In case of severe bone insufficiency, instability or infection of the primary RSA, revision to another RSA is preferable but ...

Targeted Local Delivery via Fiber‐Embedded Flexible Microchannels Integrated with Film‐Based Implantable Probes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
In this study, a fiber‐embedded drug delivery channel for implantable microprobes, demonstrating the first functional drug delivery system using flexible LCP‐based probes, is developed. The design incorporates fibers for site‐selective drug delivery and electrical functions. The utilization of monolithic thermal bonding simplifies fabrication.
