Noch stets sind die meisten phytochemischen Arbeiten Vitis vinifera und den mit ihr kreuzbaren Wildarten gewidmet. Das ist durchaus verstandlich, obwohl aus taxonomischer Sicht bedauernswert, da Weinbau und Weinbereitung zu den ganz grosen Agrar-Industrien gehoren (1).

Abstract A revision of the nomenclature of the seeds of the Vitaceae from the Oligocene Brandon Lignite (Vermont, U.S.A.) has resulted in the description of a new species, Vitis macrochalaza , for the form previously reported as Vitis pseudo-rotundifolia Berry.
