Disease Localization and Bowel Resections as Predictors of Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D Status in Patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease

open access: yesInternational Journal of Translational Medicine
Background: Terminal ileum inflammation and surgical resections impair absorption of vitamin B12 and D in patients with Crohn’s disease (CD) and Ulcerative Colitis (UC). We assessed differences in subclinical deficiencies of vitamin B12 (

Bacteria‐Responsive Nanostructured Drug Delivery Systems for Targeted Antimicrobial Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bacteria‐responsive nanocarriers are designed to release antimicrobials only in the presence of infection‐specific cues. This selective activation ensures drug release precisely at the site of infection, avoiding premature or indiscriminate release, and enhancing efficacy.

In Situ Synthesis of Covalent Organic Frameworks Inside Cells for Triggering Ferroptosis and Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We have developed an intracellular crystalline polymerization strategy involving acid‐catalyzed imine condensation to synthesize COFs in lysosomes. The generation of COFs in lysosomes damages their integrity, activates iron species, and induces immunogenic ferroptosis, thereby enhancing antitumor immunotherapy.

Artificial Symbiosis for Bulk Production of Bacterial Cellulose Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Co‐cultivation of the cellulose‐producing bacterium with the microalga enables bulk formation of bacterial cellulose under static incubation, with photosynthetically active oxygen‐generating sites throughout the medium. This symbiotic platform supports 3D cellulosic constructs with geometries dictated by the vessel shape.
