New canopy legume species highlight liana gap sampling across Amazonian and Atlantic rain forests

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 75, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract Lianas are a key component of the Neotropical flora, accounting for 10% of angiosperm richness and playing important ecological roles. However, the canopy preference of some species often leads to their underrepresentation in herbarium collections, thereby exacerbating Linnaean, Darwinian, and Wallacean shortfalls. The papilionoid legume genus

Botanical inventory of the early book herbaria of Leonhard Rauwolf from southern France and northern Italy (1560–1563)

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 75, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract Sixteenth‐century herbaria are the oldest plant collections that survive today and, as such, they provide valuable insights in past floras and historical botanical interactions. One of the most fascinating still extant 16th‐century herbaria is the four‐volume collection of the German physician, botanist and traveler Leonhard Rauwolf (1535 ...

Efeito do ácido naftalenoacético e do cloreto de cálcio na redução das perdas pós-colheita em uva 'Niagara Rosada' Effect of naphthalene acetic acid and calcium chloride in reducing postharvest losses of 'Nigara Rosada' grapes

The significance of tree retention on fungal communities and below‐ground stocks 12 years after harvest of boreal forest

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 63, Issue 8, August 2026.
Our results indicate that a decade after tree harvesting, ectomycorrhizal fungal community assembly shifted from stochastic to deterministic environmental filtering, with higher harvest intensity driving greater community differences. Certain Cortinarius species were harvest‐sensitive, while Piloderma cinicola increased at lower retention levels ...

Prey Range and Voracity of Main Insect Natural Enemies of Pests in Corsican Clementine Orchards

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, Volume 174, Issue 8, Page 851-862, August 2026.
To assess the biocontrol potential on the main arthropod pests of clementine orchards in Corsica, laboratory experiments were carried out using five potential predators. Their prey range and voracity were tested on three pest species. Then, a global predation rate index was calculated at the scale of the entire community of insect predators.
