Humic Acids and EDTA Added to Marine Sediments Improve eDNA Detectability
Environmental DNA detectability in sediments increased with the addition of humic acid sodium salts prior to lysis. The addition of EDTA before lysis yielded a similar improvement, suggesting that various chelating agents can enhance eDNA recovery and detection. ABSTRACT Sediments are complex and challenging matrices for DNA detections.
