Characteristics of pulsed Vivaldi antenna

2004 14th International Crimean Conference "Microwave and Telecommunication Technology" (IEEE Cat. No.04EX843), 2004
Experimental and theoretical results of investigation of the Vivaldi antenna in the pulsed mode of operation are presented. Antenna power directive gain and efficiency of feeder system are calculated as a function of Gaussian pulse duration exciting the system. Experimental results on registration of received pulse time dependences in the communication

Antipodal Vivaldi antenna for phased array antenna applications

Proceedings of 2012 5th Global Symposium on Millimeter-Waves, 2012
This paper describes an antipodal Vivaldi antenna on Rogers4350B substrate at the operating frequency band of 6∼18GHz. Both simulation and measurement results show superior performance with high gain of 6–10dB and symmetrical H-plane characteristics. In addition, a 1×8 H-plane phased array with alterable spacing between adjacent elements is constructed

Design and Analysis of a Low Profile Millimeter-Wave Band Vivaldi MIMO Antenna for Wearable WBAN Applications

IEEE Access
The development of a reliable Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) relies significantly on the quality of wearable antennas. Therefore, this paper proposes a low-profile four-element Multi-Input-Multi-Output (MIMO) antenna for wearable millimeter-wave (mm ...

A designed of miniaturized Vivaldi antenna for antenna array applications

2017 IEEE 2nd Advanced Information Technology, Electronic and Automation Control Conference (IAEAC), 2017
This paper presents a miniaturized Vivaldi antenna in order to meet the practical requirements of antenna array applications. Compared to the conventional Vivaldi antenna (CVA), the width of the modified Vivaldi antenna aperture is reduced 38.05% by adding regular slot edges (RSE), which will prevent the antenna array from generating the grating lobes.

Improved design of the Vivaldi antenna

IEE Proceedings H Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation, 1988
The Vivaldi antenna and its feeding transition is investigated. A tapered transition from microstrip to symmetric double sided slot line, fabricated on a low dielectric constant substrate, exhibits a very wide operating frequency range, with no need for a shorting hole.

A design of phased array antenna based on the Vivaldi antenna

2010 2nd International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems, 2010
A new design process of a phased array antenna at 2GHz is presented by the simulation method. First a suitable antenna pattern for the radiator of Vivaldi is selected as a slot antenna with light weight, small volume, low cost and high gain. A kind of the analysis software of high frequency structure simulation CST MWS is optimized for the VSWR and ...

A Reconfigurable Vivaldi Antenna with bandwidth control

2019 15th International Conference on Electronics, Computer and Computation (ICECCO), 2019
This paper proposes a reconfigurable Vivaldi antenna with bandwidth control. The Vivaldi antenna is incorporated with two pairs of circular slot resonator for the purpose of switching. Pin diodes are used to switch ON/OFF the circular slot resonators one pair at a time. The bandwidth of the Vivaldi antenna can be controlled from a wideband (1. 08GHz to

Vivaldi antennas: wideband radar antennas simulation and reality

IET International Conference on Radar Systems 2007, 2007
Multiple applications sharing a single multiple-aperture array is a driver for research into wideband antenna design. Vivaldi antennas are inherently wideband and are known to have good RF characteristics, are inexpensive and easy to manufacture, and have a flat profile enabling construction of compact arrays.

Vivaldi antenna

2008
Microstrip antenna has received a lot of attentions due to its advantages such as low profile, light weight and easily reproducible. However, the inherent characteristic of microstrip antenna is narrow band. Many techniques had been developed to make the microstrip antenna broadband such as shaping the physical shape of the radiating element or using ...
