ACM SIGGRAPH 2019 Appy Hour, 2019
We present ViVid, a mobile app for iOS that empowers users to express dynamics in stylized Live Photos. This app uses state-of-the-art computer-vision techniques based on convolutional neural networks to estimate motion in the video footage that is captured together with a photo. Based on this analysis and best practices of contemporary art, photos can

What is Vividness of Imagery? Characteristics of Vivid Visual Imagery
Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1992Two experiments were conducted to examine the characteristics of vivid visual imagery. In Exps. 1 and 2, analysis showed that the subjects' drawings of their imagery indicated more visual features for the vivid imagers than for the non-vivid imagers and no difference in sketching time between the two groups.

Vivid Persuasion in the Courtroom
Journal of Personality Assessment, 1985When witnesses at a trial offer testimony that is vivid, it may be more persuasive than the same testimony offered in a pallid manner. In this paper we elucidate three categories of variables (inferential, attentional/memorial, and affective) that are likely to mediate the effects of the vividness of testimony on jury judgments.
