VLBI Type Experimental Observation of GPS [PDF]
As a preparatory study for Global Positioning System-Very Long Baseline Interferometry (GPS-VLBI) hybrid system, we examined if VLBI type observation of the GPS signal is realizable through a test experiment.

VSOP-to-ground VLBI and mm VLBI are both needed if we want to further increase our knowledge of quasars, radio galaxies and their radio jets, mm VLBI will be a better instrument to study the "central engine" while satellite VLBI will better show the ...

Global Geodetic Observing System 2015–2018 [PDF]
Global Geodetic Observing System (GGOS) was established in 2003 by the International Association of Geodesy (IAG) with the main goal to deepen understanding of the dynamic Earth system by quantifying human-induced Earth’s changes in space and time.

We have developed a broadband VLBI (very long baseline interferometry) system inspired by the concept of the VLBI Global Observing System (VGOS). The new broadband VLBI system was implemented in the Kashima 34 m antenna and in two transportable stations ...

The Size, Shape, and Scattering of Sagittarius A* at 86 GHz: First VLBI with ALMA [PDF]
The Galactic center supermassive black hole Sagittarius A* (Sgr A*) is one of the most promising targets to study the dynamics of black hole accretion and outflow via direct imaging with very long baseline interferometry (VLBI).

Precise VLBI/GNSS ties with micro-VLBI
We present here a concept of measuring local ties between collocated GNSS and VLBI stations using the microwave technique that effectively transforms a GNSS receiver to an element of a VLBI network. This is achieved by modifying the signal chain that allows to transfer voltage of the GNSS antenna to a digitizer via a coaxial cable.

Microarcsecond VLBI Pulsar Astrometry with PSRπ II. Parallax Distances for 57 Pulsars [PDF]
We present the results of PSRπ, a large astrometric project targeting radio pulsars using the Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA). From our astrometric database of 60 pulsars, we have obtained parallax-based distance measurements for all but 3, with a ...

A Synoptic VLBI Technique for Localizing Nonrepeating Fast Radio Bursts with CHIME/FRB [PDF]
We demonstrate the blind interferometric detection and localization of two fast radio bursts (FRBs) with subarcminute precision on the 400 m baseline between the Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment (CHIME) and the CHIME Pathfinder. In the same
