An architecture for implementing VLC in VLSI technology based on microprogramming and hash tables

Twelfth Annual IEEE International ASIC/SOC Conference (Cat. No.99TH8454), 2003
This paper proposes an architecture for implementing in VLSI technology VLC (variable length code) for video coding. The objective of this architecture is to optimize the memory size while maintaining a low access time to VLC words. The architecture is based on reordering codes and addressing tables by means of hashing methods.

The design and performance of counter-based PDSM architectures for VLC

2016 Advances in Wireless and Optical Communications (RTUWO), 2016
In this paper, we develop a new structure to obtain Pulse Dual Slope Modulation (PDSM) signals for visible light communication with dimming control. The modulator architecture consists of the simple blocks, including a counter, a MUX, and a serial to parallel converter.

Digital architecture of 8×8 MIMO Hardware channel simulator for time-varying heterogeneous systems with LTE-A, 802.11ac and VLC signals

2016 3rd International Conference on Advances in Computational Tools for Engineering Applications (ACTEA), 2016
This paper presents the design of an 8×8 Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) hardware simulator for time-varying propagation channels using heterogeneous systems (LTE-A and 802.11ac) with Visible Light Communications (VLC) signals. A new specific architecture of the simulator digital block is presented to characterize 5G scenarios. It is designed and

Implementation of HetNet architectures based on FSO, VLC, RoF, and photonics-based RF generation toward 6G applications

Journal of Optical Communications and Networking
This paper presents two distinct network architectures designed to address the demands of 5G/6G applications. The first architecture is an analog radio-over-fiber (RoF) optical fronthaul operating in the V-band at 60 GHz, integrated within a wavelength-division multiplexing passive optical network (WDM-PON).
