Energy Efficient Resource Allocation for Demand Intensive Applications in a VLC Based Fog Architecture

open access: yes2023 23rd International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON), 2023
In this paper, we propose an energy efficient passive optical network (PON) architecture for backhaul connectivity in indoor visible light communication (VLC) systems. The proposed network is used to support a fog computing architecture designed to allow users with processing demands to access dedicated fog nodes and idle processing resources in other ...

Enhancement of Modulation Bandwidth for VLC Utilizing Green Mini‐LED Light Source

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
This paper investigates three sizes of green Mini‐LEDs for visible light communication, focusing on modulation bandwidth and the impact of atomic layer deposition (ALD) sidewall passivation. ALD significantly enhances bandwidth (up to 21.6%), confirming suppression of nonradiative recombination.

Mechanically Tunable Bone Scaffolds: In Vivo Hardening of 3D‐Printed Calcium Phosphate/Polycaprolactone Inks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 12, 9 February 2026.
A 3D bone scaffold with osteogenic properties and capable of hardening in vivo is developed. The scaffold is implanted in a ductile state, and a phase transformation of the ceramic induces the stiffening and strengthening of the scaffold in vivo. Abstract Calcium phosphate 3D printing has revolutionized customized bone grafting.

Resource allocation in a multi-color DS-OCDMA VLC cellular architecture

open access: yesOptics Express, 2018
In this paper we present two resource allocations techniques in a visible light communication network with overlapping coverage areas due to the use of access points. Particularly, the first approach exploits the rate maximization criteria, and then aims at maximizing the network rate under constraints on minimum and maximum rates, while the other ...

WildWing: An open‐source, autonomous and affordable UAS for animal behaviour video monitoring

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 17, Issue 2, Page 291-300, February 2026.
Abstract Drones have become invaluable tools for studying animal behaviour in the wild, enabling researchers to collect aerial video data of group‐living animals. However, manually piloting drones to track animal groups consistently is challenging due to complex factors such as terrain, vegetation, group spread and movement patterns. The variability in
