Performance metrics for consolidated servers [PDF]
In spite of the widespread adoption of virtualization and consol- idation, there exists no consensus with respect to how to bench- mark consolidated servers that run multiple guest VMs on the same physical hardware.

Computational Wind-Turbine Analysis with the ALE-VMS and ST-VMS Methods
We provide an overview of the aerodynamic and FSI analysis of wind turbines the first three authors’ teams carried out in recent years with the ALE-VMS and ST-VMS methods. The ALE-VMS method is the variational multiscale version of the Arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian (ALE) method. The VMS components are from the residual-based VMS (RBVMS) method.

VM consolidation approach based on heuristics, fuzzy logic, and migration control
To meet the increasing demand of computational power, at present IT service providers’ should choose cloud based services for its flexibility, reliability and scalability. More and more datacenters are being built to cater customers’ need.

Engineering a Spin‐Orbit Bandgap in Graphene‐Tellurium Heterostructures
Tellurium intercalation in epitaxial graphene on Ir(111) enables the emergence of a spin–orbit‐induced bandgap with energy spin splitting. By combining STM, ARPES, spin‐resolved ARPES, and DFT, two structural phases are identified, both exhibiting tunable electronic doping.

Formulation of Vector Manifestation in Hot and/or Dense Matter
The vector manifestation (VM) was proposed as a novel manifestation of chiral symmetry in which the massless vector meson becomes the chiral partner of pion.

Tunable Thermoshrinkable Hydrogels for 4D Fabrication of Cell‐Seeded Channels
A thermoresponsive polymer with methacrylate groups for photo‐cross‐linking, based on polyethylene glycol, N‐isopropylacrylamide, and 2‐hydroxyethyl acrylate is synthetized to yield hydrogels that shrink upon temperature increase. The new polymer enables the fabrication of cell‐laden perfusable channels with diameters below 200 µm by combining ...

End-to-end informed VM selection in compute clouds [PDF]
The selection of resources, particularly VMs, in current public IaaS clouds is usually done in a blind fashion, as cloud users do not have much information about resource consumption by co-tenant third-party tasks.
