Metal ion‐catalyzed Z→E isomerization of photoswitchable azobenzene glycomacrocycle: A new azobenzene‐based glycomacrocycle is capable of forming a 1:1 complex with divalent metal ions in both E‐ and Z‐isomers. Reactions of LiPR2 with BiCl3 selectively give diphosphanes R2P–PR2 in high yields, presumably via Bi─P homolysis. This includes challenging cases with bulky substituents R.
